The key to sustainable success: be all of you 🤩😡😖😢😱😄🤪

You can’t imagine how happy I am to be typing these lines for you as I sit on a terrace in Portugal. I have been here for two weeks and will stay another two. I have already received so many insights, input and ideas, and I can’t wait to bring it all back to Germany, to my work and obviously to you beautiful guys 🙃. But enough about me and my life update.

Let’s talk about you for a minute.

Have you ever had the thought cross your mind that you should be more confident? … that if only you believed more in yourself, it’d be easier to put yourself out there? … that if you believed more in your offer, it’d be easier to sell your services or products?

“People are attracted to you when you are joyful, enthusiastic and confident. Radiate these qualities out into the world and see what you attract.”

I recently read that statement in an Oracle card deck (yes, I like a little lot of woo in my life) and noticed how my body was immediately contracting.

Here is what my innocent mind created out of this statement: “Oh, then I have to be confident at all times, and when I am doubting myself or my work, then I am less worthy. It’s not good to doubt myself”.

Can you feel the pressure and the sense of unworthiness that stands behind this?

From what I have seen with my clients and me, this is a trap that many of us outside-the-box-thinkers can fall into. It’s this “when …, then …” mentality which keeps us stuck in this pressure cooker.

“When I am confident, then people will buy my products.”

“When I am attractive, then people will like me and want to work with me.”

“When I believe in myself, then I will be successful and people will finally believe me.”

And don’t get me wrong: of course, we feel attracted to people who are shining and vibrating. It’s inspiring and heart-opening to witness a huge smile and somebody being happy.

But imagine someone dear to your heart standing in front of you right now – really think of the person you love the most. Imagine them saying:

“I am doubting myself a lot right now: I am not good enough, I am not enjoyable to be around, I feel like you don’t like me. That’s all I can think of at this moment”.

What do you notice in your body here? My response was: I am leaning towards them, my heart opens, I want to hold them and not “ugh, I don’t like you”. I felt attracted to them, and I find it inspiring that they dare to share what is present for them.

So for me, the key is not about being radiant, confident, and enthusiastic all the time. For me, it’s about being authentically alive. That is what attracts people to you. Allowing yourself to embrace all your colours and shapes, not just the ones that you or others perceive as “good”.

Read that again:

The key lies in you embracing all your versions with love, also the parts within you that you have learned to judge and label as bad. Your success lies in feeling compassion for what is alive NOW and loving ALL of you. Not just the sparkles.
